“It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.” – St. Paul 1Tim1:15
Dear prospective team member,
We are glad you are interested in coming back to serve as a team member! As you know, the TEC program is a Catholic-based, Christian retreat. Along with this, there are certain responsibilities we have as human beings to uphold the integrity of our Beloved program.
We love and respect all people who love Jesus. As humans we are all sinners; yet we are also called to be a witness to our youth and evangelize. It is essential, therefore, for those wishing to serve as youth ministers on a TEC retreat to proclaim Jesus Christ, His life, and His ministry. We must present the Catholic faith and be Christ’s witnesses to the world.
As a potential team member, we ask you to make a personal examination of conscience; such as one found at www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/sacraments-and-sacramentals/penance/examinations-of-conscience.cfm or on the Laudate app. Being asked to lead our youth is a very large responsibility and a commitment that should not be looked upon lightly. Please use this preparatory time before your prospective TEC weekend to try your very best to right your Spirit with our Almighty Savior. If you feel, for any reason, you are not in a position to be in youth leadership, please speak with our Spiritual Advisor in confidence before you make your decision. We wholeheartedly care about you, your choices, and, most importantly, your soul.
We realize that not all members of our community are Catholic; however we have an obligation to the program to uphold The Church’s teachings. If you are living a lifestyle outside of the Catholic Church’s teaching, we may ask you to speak to our Spiritual Advisor to determine if it is an appropriate time for you to serve on a TEC weekend.
Christ’s Love and Peace,
Great River TEC Board of Directors
